So if you have been day trading the forex market for some time you may be wondering if there is an easier way. Well I’m here to say yes there is an easier way. Swing trading, you may have heard of this before, but were told it wasn’t as exciting as the day trading world. With all the ups and downs of the market in the last year or so, many day traders are simply getting burnt out.

Some of the many advantages of swing trading over day trading are:

Simply a much more relaxing and less demanding trading method. A more forgiving trading strategy, less pressure to make the trade in a matter of seconds like day trading. You worry less about your brokers spreads, a shift of 1 or 2 pips isn’t such a big deal. Swing trading is not effected by daily news events to the same extent as day trading. With swing trades you make fewer trades, where there is less chance of making mistakes, fewer trades equals smaller transaction or brokerage costs as well. Swing trading works now as well as it will a year or two from now. You will have less hassle and problems with your broker when you aren’t scalping or day trading in general. There was a time when I thought I was invinceable too. That was until I started having health challenges, you know heart problems, high blood pressure, difficulty sleeping. Luckily my family noticed the problem before it was too late. I didn’t really notice myself. I just thought it was a normal part of aging, but a trip to the doctor said otherwise. He said I had to find a less stressful occupation or risk a potential life threatening heart attack. Now that didn’t sound good, but yet I didn’t think it was that bad. I started searching for another way to continue trading but with less stress.

So now which trading program should one use to learn this swing strategy? After much investigation I discovered the guys at NetPicks. I like to see this on a screen or have someone show exactly how to do something. I just have too much trouble just reading about it in a book then trying to figure out what goes where or how it should look when I’m done.

Probably the best part, for me anyway is the access to “Ultimate Owner’s Club” here I am able get regular program updates and hear what other traders are having success with. Oh and done be like me an assume you don’t need to test this all on a demo account first. Yeah that was my stubborness again, and I screwed it up and make a couple of mistakes and lost some of my account before I corrected things. So save your money! Run it all on a demo account first, then only after you see how it all works together, then transfer to a live account. You have a choice of 4 trading platforms to use. This program works on TradeStation, eSignal, MetaTrader and NinjaTrader. I use MetaTrader which is slightly different than the TradeStation platform UST demonstrates on. This was one of my problems, I missed a couple of little differences and it cost me. So beware double check the settings a second time.

Once I finally got it all figured out I soon discovered how easy it was to follow this swing trading strategy. The netpicks guys with UST FX edition don’t leave much out. Unlike day trading, you can be successful and increase your account balance quickly with low risk and money management settings. Just because your broker offers 100:1 or 200:1 leverage doesn’t mean you should use it. You need to know how the leverage and lot size affects the potential lose in your account should your trade go bad. So many new traders make this mistake, too high leverage, with too small account size. At 100:1 a small account can be lost quickly. You’ll have to read the full details of how this all works within the Ultimate Swing trader 2.0 FX edition manual. Starting out you want low risk and low potential drawdowns, otherwise you may not be a forex trader for long.

In order to gain the greatest benefits from swing trading you must adhere to the 24 hour trading schedule. Pick a time, any time and check your trades and set ups once each day. You need to resist the urge like me to trade more often. Soon you could be back to the busy day trading schedule before long. I almost forgot, those NetPicks folks left little to chance, UltimateSwing trader automaticly adjusts targets according to market volatility. No use having a large profit point when the market is flat or trending, you’ll never reach it.

If there is something I can find as a negative about this Ultimate Swing trader 2.0 is that it will take sometime to go through all of the material. They recommend that you not trade anything until you have reviewed all the training available. So this may take you up to a week or more if your schedule is busy. I found this a small price to pay in the long run. I may have taken a couple of weeks to get into live trading, but the wait was worth it. I now have so much more time to do what I really want and to just spend time relaxing with my wife and family. I suspect that is what you are wanting out of life too. What good is a huge trading account if our dead?
